I’ve always know that the Lord of the Rings had Christian tones and was founded in a Biblical worldview. It’s something that often occurs naturally for a writer. Everything you think and believe comes alive as you write, no matter what you are writing.
However, I would have never guess that the Lord of the Rings had this many Christian themes:

“Dr. Peter Kreeft explains some of the unseen Christian foundations that undergird “The Lord of the Rings.” He shows that the most important character in the series is someone who is never named: God. Dr. Kreeft also discusses the multiple Christ-figures in the series as they relate to Jesus’ offices of king, prophet, and priest.”
Mind blown.

Very cool!
I really enjoy the differences between Tolkien and Lewis; the “metaphor” or the picture of biblical ideas that Tolkien uses versus the “literal-ness” of Lewis.
Both have their purpose, but I like the depth that Tolkien brings to the narrative.

A really good book on this is “The Battle for Middle-Earth” by Fleming Rutledge. It is a deep thinking look at providence and other themes in LOTR. Much deeper and more thoughtful than others out there.
Have not had time to watch all of the Kreeft video, but sounds like she explores some of the same themes.
