Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Freaknik, and Passion’s Awakening…?!

March 12, 2010
by Eric Dye

A funny thing happened to me on my way to iTunes this morning. A friend had mentioned to me that the new Passion: Awakening album that was released on March 9th was worth every penny.

I like many geeks have two monitors running on my desk. I opened iTunes and threw it over to my secondary monitor; while I finished an email on screen one.

I looked over to begin my search of the new album, and this is what I see:

I think we can safely say that we will never see these four banner ads assembled in one location. Ever.

Way to go my Passion Conference Peeps.

Sometimes the most creative things we see during the day are the most surprising.

It is a great album. My favorite about this image though has to be the “Freaknik – The Musical” commanding all the attention in the bottom corner.

I love it when art has enough power to defy Christain/non-Christian labeling and stereotypes.

Passion 2010. Absolutely Incredible. Awakening album is the best worship album so far.

I haven’t been a fan of the newer passion albums. I like the first ones better (better is one day, passion 268). I’ll have to listen to this new one this week and see how it goes.

Haha that’s funny. I kinda stared at the picture for a minute, read to the end of the post, and went…”wait what?”

    Looked at the picture again…”oooooh!”

Mk so yea that’s pretty awesome. Speaking of Crowder, I think his album went to #2 for a while on iTunes when it first came out.

wow, what a collection. If it was a blog post you might argue that Passion got prime advertising space.

Personally I think the Freaknik ad is the one that stands out as the strange inclusion.

Love seeing more than decent Christian marketing/design. It warms my heart. 🙂

It think it’s so cool that iTunes let the Rolling Stones & Pearl Jam share some space with Passion. That’s huge promotion for them! Way to RS & PJ- keep working, and you’ll get there someday!

(I’d like to point out that sometimes the reason we (Christians) don’t get prime spots, et cetera is because we think they only belong to those prominent individuals “worthy” of them. Flip the thinking on this…. uh oh, I feel a post coming on.)
