Did you know that WordPress can display posts you have scheduled?
How awesome is that!
This would not only be cool for a band website that lists upcoming shows or events, but it would be great for bloggers who plan out and schedule blog posts ahead of time. What a great hook for returning blog readers to subscribe to your feed or come back, so they don’t miss one of your upcoming awesome blog posts.
Here’s how to do it:
How-To List Future Posts
Just drop this in your WordPress theme file, tweak and style accordingly.
No future events scheduled.
Drop it on your front page, footer or sidebar. A handy snippet for sure!
How-To Get Posts from One Year Ago, Today
I like this one.
What a great way to get some more mileage from your past posts. So many times, readers come and go, and you may have some great posts they may enjoy.
This snippet of code would be dropped into a specific page template you should create for your readers to view posts from “one year ago, today.”
Throw a graphic on your sidebar linking to your newly created page and get some more mileage off those old posts!
