You’re likely heard about Pablo before. It’s a very popular tool from the folks at Buffer, and we at ChurchMag have found it worthy of covering in the past. However, Pablo has now finally reached a point at which I will probably use it.
What’s changed?
Pablo has now evolved to include a Chrome Extension.
Pablo Extension
I looked at Pablo (2.0) when it was released and, while it was neat, I said to myself, “I’ll never remember to use this.” Now, however, with an extension linking the system more closely to my workflow, I’m very excited about the possibilities that this opens for me.
And you!
Here’s the “official” feature list from Buffer/Pablo:
Pablo Extension Features:
+ Highlight text on any page and then right click to see an option for opening that text in Pablo for creating beautiful images.
+ Right click on any image that you come across and you will see an option to open the image in Pablo for editing.
+ As you browse your favorite sites and hover over images, you will notice a ‘Pablo’ button in the lower right corner. Select this button and the image will automatically be pulled into Pablo and available for editing.
+ Simply click the Pablo icon in your browser and the Pablo dashboard will open in a new tab.
The first two are the ones I’m most excited about, and therefore, they’re the ones I’ve experimented with.
Image First
I found an image I like at Unsplash, and used the right-click/context menu to open it in Pablo.
Text First
Starting with a great verse at Bible.com, I was able to use that same context menu option to pull the verse right into Pablo.
All told, all of the image creation took less than two minutes each. Not bad, right? And you can either download the image—great for me, since I can’t access social media from my work’s wifi—or share it directly to any social media network attached to your Buffer account.
To add the Pablo Extension to your browser and cut your image sharing time in half, head on over to the Chrome Store.

I’m a huge fan of Pablo, I use it daily. That said I’ve thrown my two cents in on some much needed updates and they seem to be looking in to it as I’m definitely not alone. They need a grid or auto-center functions. It drives me nuts.

Sean, I generally try to keep my reviews positive, but I AGREE! That has made me so frustrated!
End of rage.
Thanks for the comment!

They messaged me and had me post a vote on a feature request page covering the same complaints.

Phil are there any copyright issues with using any image from a site?
Phil Schneider says
Only if they catch you! 😉
No, there are. For me, the best application of this is when you’re scrolling through your own photos on Flickr or when looking through Unsplash or s similar site.

I’d also recommend using Pexel.com or Librestock.com as they are specifically licensed to be free to use.

Great suggestions!

Thanks Phil
