If you’ve ever ventured out into retro gaming with an emulator, you’ll find that they’re not always the easiest to use and sometimes are a little buggy. The BEST retro gaming is usually with the actual system or something like the Wii offers with retro purchases.
And when it comes to the Mac, free emulator offerings are probably the worse option of them all.
Until now…
OpenEmu
I am so excited!
This OpenEmu project for the Mac is not only beautiful looking, but very functional, too!
After a download from Github, configuring my Xbox 360 USB controller, and OpenEmu finding all my ROMs, I was rockin’ some sweet classics.
Best emulator, hands down.

That interface is stunning. Way better than the one I am currently using. Looking forward to playing some old games today!

It IS stunning! Also the best save feature I’ve ever used, too.

Look forward to downloading this and trying it out on the wife’s new MacBook Pro. Thanks for sharing!
Eric Dye says
WOOT! What games will you be getting first?
David Strader says
Not sure, where do you download the roms? Have OpenEmu installed and ready to rock n roll. Dr. Mario for sure 😉
Thing is…I still have most of these packed away somewhere.
Eric Dye says
Give it a Google—that’ll get you in the right direction. 😉
