We had previously talked about giving online here, but there has been much debate via Google+ communities and different blogs that it needs to be readdressed. Simply put, digital giving can improve your income revenue dramatically. You cannot argue with facts, so if your only reason for not wanting to do it is because your church might not like it, then you are doing your church a disservice.
Online giving is effective. Here are three facts to prove it:
- For every address collected via new member sign ups, a newsletter online, or whatever, an average of $13 is raised. Not much until you consider the 200 emails collected per church.
- Online giving comprises of only 7% of overall funds, but nearly 11% of online fundraising comprises the total GDP
- More importantly than the first time givers are the 27% of sustaining givers.
