I vote strange. What he was trying to say was noble enough, but the execution wasn’t so great. Makes all us Christians look so badly out of touch.
Visuals aside, they sound as boring as the average church.
Matthew Snider says
I would agree with J.D. on this one. He doesn’t match the background. He doesn’t play Wii at all.

Looks like they are on a 21 day fast right now http://www.austinpowerhouse.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=87&Itemid=201
and yeah i would have to vote strange.
John Gibbs says
Why did they name their church after Austin Powers?
Jordan Wiseman says
I say strange. Not the concept, but the execution rather. If you’re going to do it, do it well.
Justin Edwards says
Strange. From what was said in the clip, he spoke the biblical truth. But these types of shenanigans are so unnecessary and detract from anything this pastor might preach. We need the Word of God alone spoken from the pulpit, not silly charades and forms of entertainment to bring in more unregenerate people. Backdrops like this turn God’s house into a circus.
Ben Miller says
Yes, it looks a little strange while the pastor is preaching, but the church was decorated that way for a kids event:

Looks like everyone is having fun in a very 8BIT way. 🙂 Nice sound effects on the video, too. I don’t really understand the ridicule here….
Justin Edwards says
Thanks for posting that. Consider me jaded from seeker sensitivity. 🙂

I think it’s OK. Makes the pew sitter feel bit more relaxed. May be they minister to a specific community… For instance Indians love cricket. One of the churches in Bangalore shows a Jesus vs. Satan cricket match in it’s backdrop. Satan is throwing the ball, Jesus is prepared to wag the bat and the play ground appears to be the blood of Jesus Christ…
