I love this.
Got news the other day of this new reporting organization, Mobile Benchmarks, that recently launched that is essentially tracking how non profits are using mobile technology to increase awareness, advocacy, and obviously fundraise:
The 2010 Nonprofit Text Messaging Benchmarks report is the first of its kind. A joint venture between M+R and MobileActive.org, the aim of this study is two-fold:
1) To provide benchmarks and metrics by which nonprofit organizations can measure their success with text messaging; and 2) to illustrate the various ways in which organizations are using text messaging.
You can download their first report for free and I’ll admit that the report is good.
I’d bookmark this site and continue to watch as they expand their research.
Stephen Bateman says
I suppose lots of people probably do like that level of engagement, but text messages from good organizations make me…mad. Probably not mad, just not happy I suppose.
John Saddington says
i know the feeling.

62% from email – interesting
I also don’t like sms messages from my Church, but then again I would rather go through the website, actually – come to think of it – I’ld prefer and email over the sms. I am just a strange person, don’t mind me 😛
John Saddington says
i prefer email too.
Travis Fish says
I agree.
Brett Barner says
Sweet! I’d prefer email over sms simply because you can fit more in there. I’m sure as we continue to see the growth in consumer mobile web, it’ll be just as effective as reaching the masses instantly.
John Saddington says
that is true, that is true.
