When I first read this infographic (‘read’ seems like a strong word when referring to an infographic) about Nintendo’s success, I didn’t think it would be very interesting.
Man. I was wrong.
There are plenty of coins to collect on this one!
What did you find the most interesting?
This is just more proof, despite your feelings about Nintendo, they are a major player in the gaming world. Such influence!

Sure, they have market share, but that’s only valuable to a point (see RIM, Nokia, AOL, etc.). I don’t think it’s a hard argument to make that they have already fallen behind Microsoft and Sony in terms of platform innovation. The Wii is a laughable device when compared to (the now comparably priced) Xbox 360.

I do, however, believe there is a divide in the gaming market between hardcore gamers and family-centric/casual gaming systems.
Jonathan Assink says
The real fight is between Sony and Microsoft. If Nintendo keeps cranking out $100-200 “casual gaming” consoles, people will just buy that, and an Xbox (or a PS3, I guess, not sure why though. =) ).
