You may have recently noticed (perhaps) a slight change in our Sponsorship and Advertising on ChurchCrunch.com, and that’s because I’ve completely reworked the system with BuySellAds.com.
Check out our BuySellAds page here.
I have personal experience with nearly every single plugin and do-it-yourself advertising platform out there and I’ve finally landed on this one in particular.
The biggest reason is because I’m just not an “admin” person. I hate doing paperwork, excess emailing, and management/reporting. I’d rather just do what I do best: blogging.
BuySellAds provides me and my sponsors with “powerful simplicity” allowing them to purchase advertising with a click of a button. They’ll also be able to see the estimated impressions, the slots available, some quick metrics of the site, and more.
Also, it’s completely hands-off from my perspective. I spent about 15 minutes setting all the zones up and copying and pasting code and then about an additional 5 minutes changing up the CSS to style correctly.
Now I can completely “forget” about it and let it auto-pilot itself. Genius.
They do take a 25% cut of the sponsorship value but that’s worth it to me because I never have to worry about it at all.
So check it out and if you’d like feel free to sponsor ChurchCrunch.com! Again, we also have an RSS Feed Slot available as well as Product Reviews and Featured Posts.
Finally, if you’re considering using BSA as a advertising platform I’ll just let you know that they are a little “snobbish” when it comes to who gets accepted into the marketplace. I’ve received rejection letters from them for all of my properties and this is the first one that has made it in.
This is the typical content in the rejection email that I’ve gotten more than a handful of times:
- We are currently focused on the tech / web design / development / freelancer niche. While we do occasionally accept sites outside of thie niche, you may be denied if you are not in this niche.
- Greater than 100K impressions per month (for new sites, if you (or your team) have a history of creating really nice websites we will accept you).
- Your website must be live, finished, and have fresh content.
- No porn or anything illegal or containing even remotely “questionable” content.
- Site must be in English (sorry, we’re just not able to provide support in other languages right now).
- If you have a ton of untargeted ads on your site already, we’re not going to approve you (you know who you are).
- If you do not have your own domain (i.e. you have a *.blogspot.com url) we will not approve you.
- Getting denied does not mean that we will not approve you at a future date.
- Last, but not least: we’re not trying to be snobby, but we aim to keep the quality of the network high, and if we feel that your site impeedes on the perception of the network we will not approve you.
So, don’t get discouraged if you get denied. Just continue to work on your blog, grow it as it should, and work it out!

nice.
My blog has some way to go in maturity and respect, maybe one day I will have this ad setup.
b.t.w. what do they mean by untargeted Ads? random ads out side the niche?
