A few weeks ago, I had a Skype session with Eric Dye. Eric, though some of you may not know, is presently rocking a beard (think #NoShaveNovemberx2!). Somewhere in between talking about the great missionary work he is doing in Italy and my Nigerian story we talked a bit about Crowder’s beard, though not his music. Today, I want to talk a bit about Crowder’s beard sound, especially from his latest project titled “Neon Steeple.”
Neon Steeple
Crowder, who came into the scene as the foreman of the David Crowder Band, released his first solo project earlier this year titled “Neon Steeple” and this record was undoubtedly the one of the most innovative record released this year. In a genre he appropriately tilted “Flortronica” David married folk music with electronic sounds and this fusion brought together the formidable record “Neon Steeple.” The technics ivies and sound engineering sampled on this album is highly impressive, little wonder why the record skyrocketed to the top of the chart and remains a trailblazer.
The first single from the crowder’s album “I Am” was first performed during the 2014 Passion Conference Event and is as powerful. Another notable song is “Here Is My Heart.”
Two days ago Crowder dropped another single from the record which happens to be one of my favourite tunes on the record. The song ‘Come As You Are” is basically a call to people to meet Christ as there are -broken, troubled, scared, weary, etc. It is just one of those songs that will get you and so readily relatable.
Check it out, along with “I Am”, below:

And a video of “Here’s My Heart” from Passion Conference 2013 which luckily made it to “Neon Steeple”:
Needless to say that David Crowder’s Neon Steeple is a must add to your Christian music collection.
