There are so many different Bible apps out there and many have a key feature or two to help set them apart from the competition. Well this new Bible app from Insanely Cool Apps promises that you’ll never face the guilt of falling behind in your Bible plan again, as it will READ the Bible for you, saving hours of time over the course of a year.
What is Nabal Bible
On the face of it, the Nabal Bible is just like every other Bible app out there. It has a stylish interface with a few common version of the Bible (KJV, ESV, ESV, AFE) However, a quick swipe into the settings bring up the automatic reading setting.
This activates a special in App AI that will read through the Bible for you, ensuring that you cover your Bible reading plan and never fall behind. This is done in the background while you focus on other tasks so you don’t even have to worry about remembering to open the app. All you get is a little notification telling you that you (the app), has completed your daily Bible reading for the day.
The Good
As someone who has struggled with keeping up with a Bible reading plan this app is a God send. It removes the stress and guilt of reading the Bible, but that tiny notification ping still gives me that sense of accomplishment.
To encourage you to keep the reading, there are also badges once you complete a <ible reading plan. This really helps to encourage you to keep at it and keep using the app to insure you get your next badge.
The Bad
The apps design could use a bit of work, it isn’t the most pretty nor does it follow the latest design standards. However, seeing as I rarely actually open the app now that I have set it up, you won’t really notice these legacy design elements. All you’ll see is the notification and that looks just fine.
There aren’t any social note taking or sharing options that you’d find in an app like YouVersion or similar apps. That’s a shame, but on balance, I’d much rather have the auto reading feature than those anyway, as it has lead to me getting through more of the Bible than the social bookmarking and sharing systems ever did.
Wrapping Up
The Nabal Bible isn’t perfect, the design looks a bit old and lacks some features that other apps have. However, no other Bible app has this auto reading function (I can’t understand why, I suspect others will follow).

Is there a corresponding prayer app? I could set it to pray continually and check that off my list.
