The fate of Delicious is somewhat up in the air – at one point, it was the premier social bookmarking site on the web, then Yahoo was shutting it down, and it’s been recently decided to remain open. For now, at least.
For those of you that have tons of a bookmarks stored in the services and are concerned about your data’s future, check out MySQLicious.
MySQLicious is a PHP script that automates backing up Delicious bookmarks into a local MySQL database. It’s designed to be run as a cron job and is really easy to setup:
[cc lang=”php”]
mirror(“deliciousUser”, “deliciousPass”, “MySQLtable”, “deliciousTag”);
?>
[/cc]
It requires:
- PHP4 and cURL
- MySQL
- cron
- A Delicious Account, of course.
Grab a copy in its Google Code repository.
