It wouldn’t seem 2012 was completely started without making some technology predictions, so with only one week into 2012, let’s get started!
What do you think 2012 will bring in the way of devices, OS’, apps and more?
Please, join me in making some predictions, I’ll start things off!
Eric Dye’s Tech Prediction for 2012
My tech prediction centers around Apple, but let me start by saying that I am no fanboi. In fact, I’m one of these weirdos that isn’t really “married” to any particular piece of tech.
- I like Apple, Microsoft and Open Source
- I like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft
- I like iOS and Android
Now, I will say I have my preferences, and hopefully the fact you’ve just learned that I don’t have a die-hard obsession with any of these doesn’t disappoint you.
I digress.
I predict Apple will launch an eReader.
I think Apple has plenty of pieces in place, and all they need is a price pointed device that appeals to the eReader market. I think Apple still has a chance at doing to ebooks what they’ve done with mp3s.
Do I have anything other than a gambled guess? Some snippet of data or facts?
Nope.
We’ll either be amazed at my prediction by the end of 2012, or we’ll all be laughing.
This is my tech prediction for 2012, what do you predict for 2012?
Jason Bradley says
I predict that RIM (Blackberry maker) goes bankrupt or is purchased by someone. Google will deliver there own tablet, probably the Google Nexus Tablet. It will probably be able to compete with the iPad 2, but not the new iPad 3 (whenever it comes out). I also predict that I will have an iPhone 5 this summer or fall.
Eric Dye says
Good stuff, Jason.
I love your last prediction – LOL!
Gangai Victor says
– Firefox will be beaten by Chrome and maybe even shut down.
– iPhone will play catch-up to Samsung or Motorola (or is is already happening?!)
Eric Dye says
Gangai … Firefox … whoa!
Gangai Victor says
OK maybe it will happen in 2013 😉
Eric Dye says
The fact any of us are actually considering this happening is SO crazy! It’s amazing how fast things can change, isn’t it?
