How many monitors do you have?
There was a time when my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) used two, while I did all my office tasks on a laptop—giving me a grand total of three monitors.
This made moving to a one screen workstation a little cumbersome.
Does having multiple screens boost productivity? Or is it just a perception?
I thought that maybe it was all in my head or a self-fulfilling prophecy. Besides, there isn’t enough room on my desk for a second whole monitor, so why bother?
It turns out, it may not have been just “all in my head…”
While the speed increase of having dual monitors doesn’t really impress me much, the reduction of errors is curious to me. I will say, however, that if you have a big enough monitor in the first place, you can gleam some of the multiple monitor advantages with just one.

Would you like more/less?

I don’t feel like I can work without at least 2 monitors now. My primary computer is a laptop so I have an external monitor at both office sites and a docking station.

Oh, man. I know that feel. If I just had a little more space… 😛

I’m moving back to a desktop soon. The laptop is convenient but lacks the power i need and I’d rather have matching monitors. My perfect set-up is 3 monitors side by side and 1 above the center monitor.

3!?! Think of the productivity! 😛

I recently moved from two and three monitor setups to the 34″ 21:9 (3440×1440) curve monitor. If your budget allows I would check them out. I can split windows by 2 and 3 zones and don’t have to move my head as much 🙂
