Now that Mountain Lion is available to the public for download on Mac‘s, I decided to go ahead and make the transition.
I’ve read about some of the more publicly available enhancements it brings, like deeper integration with iCloud and iOS. But I wasn’t expecting this one … apparently Time Machine comes with a hidden feature!
When I first let the installer do its thing, it said I had 35 minutes remaining. 40 minutes later I checked back on it and saw this:
I thought, “woohoo – Apple is finally giving me some of my time back!” As I waited in anticipation of how to cash in my 4 extra minutes, something unexpected happened …
The next thing I knew, the progress bar went back to around 33% and showed “20 minutes remaining”.
About 30 minutes later I was finally up and running. But I’m still wondering where my 4 minutes went!
I guess they’re still working out the bugs in Time Machine. 🙁

I had the same issue. I wasn’t gonna wait any longer so I went to bed and woke up this morning to Mountain Lion.
