Instagram has come a long way. From the simple snap, filter and share to become a feature-rich app and platform. Some of the changes were about beating other platforms vying for people’s attention. We can’t deny that the stories were about keeping users away from Snapchat, for example. Live to ‘deal’ with Periscope and other live / streaming platforms. The justification for features such as Boomerang, Rewind, Stop-motion is debatable. Despite these features, there are small changes that can have more significance.
The Link 10, is a home automation device with built-in Bluetooth and speaker that connects to all Google Assistant programs. Home automation is slowly becoming a more commercial product. While the technology has been available for quite a while, it is only now getting popular and put on brick-and-mortar stores.
Devices like Google Home, Amazon Echo, and the Link 10 are hubs for home automation, with microphones which connected to your wifi to interact with the Internet of Things devices.
Time 2 is an app that can work with your to-do list to help you stay productive.
One of the principles I keep trying to remember is “Parkinson’s law”. It goes “work expands to fill the amount of time allotted to it”. So if you have one hour to do something, it will take one hour. If you have two hours, it will take two hours.
There are limits to this principle, but I’ve found it to generally be true. With that in mind, I’ve tried tricks to help “game” myself to get work done quickly and effectively. With that in mind, Time 2 is a new app that can help you use “Parkinson’s law” to help get through work.

Let’s start with the simpler ones and move onto the more powerful.
What caught my attention about it was that it used gamification as a motivator to help you accomplish your task. Gamification is the act of adding game-like elements to make something that may be mundane to make it interesting. It is usually used for education.
This 8bit RPG style game/task manager allows you to first create a character for yourself with sever customizing options. A Zelda style guide walks you through each step as you set up your account.
The New Year is more than a date change for many people. It is also a time of recalibrating, setting resolutions and goals (I chose one word instead of a set of goals or resolutions.) At this time, people tend to commit to doing something about their spiritual formation also. They commit to attending church more often or being more active in small groups. Prayer and Bible reading are also included in some of these personal goals. For this post, I’d like us to focus on Bible Reading plans on mobile.
