It’s hard to imagine that the Bible could land itself as one of the top app downloads for mobile devices but it’s apparently the truth – YouVersion is one of them, and also has recently hit the 1,000th review in the Blackberry App Store.

I’m sure there are a lot more Bible apps that are going to be coming out for the iPad that we are already familiar with but this one has a dedicated website already (which makes a difference I suppose)!
The holiwrit Bible App for the iPad has only a few pieces of information and a few screenshots but it looks pretty so far!

Wow. I just downloaded the new ESV Bible App for the iPhone and I think I’ve found a true contender for my YouVersion love.
It’s a free, has a super-friendly interface, you can save passages for later, and has some very friendly share features (Twitter, Email, etc).
I honestly couldn’t be more happy with this version of Bible software for the iPhone.

I love new ways to approach and read the Scriptures; it’s one of the few areas that I can really rejoice in. Although one may be critical of the “consumer mentality” of choice when it comes to reading the Word, here’s my bottom line: At least they’re reading it!
