I currently have a vested interest in work specifically with teenagers as a youth ministry worker and so infographics like the one below are always going to be something that fascinates me. At the other end of wanting to know for adults what is going to be the next big communication device, app, or medium, the trend has nearly always come out of what teenagers are doing. Look at instant message, Facebook, SMS, and video chat. All were popular by teenagers first. So the infographic below is important to all ages.
App of the Week: Phoster
This is the seventeenth article in the series App of the Week series.
Some of the best ideas are simple and easy to use. Phoster is one of those apps that is absolutely perfect for my tech quotes project where I have been sharing different quotes by tech leaders on our social media accounts. I can go from finding the quote to the image done and in my Bufferapp queue on my iPhone in just a couple of minutes.
Links of the Week
Each week, we scour the web for great articles on youth ministry, social media, and blogging and offer the best of them to you. Here is what we have found to be good reads this week. If you find something you like, let us know what and leave them a comment on their blog.
App of the Week: Overgram
This is the sixteen article in the series App of the Week series.
Mobile photo editors are an attractive iOS app as people are taking tons of pictures on the fly. Some of the big leaps in ministry and blogging now require that we use these images as quick as possible which requires that we have great photo editors. Recently, I had my computer crash and needed a photo app that would allow me to overlay text on my photos for the featured image. So here is our review of Overgram.
App of the Week: Flipboard
This is the fifteenth article in the series App of the Week series.
With Google’s announcement last month of Google Reader that it would be shutting down in the summer, there have been several companies that said they would step up to fill the void for bloggers and readers that still want to have that RSS reader feel that we have grown attached to with Google. Flipboard is the top reported company that has seen success since the announcement, so we wanted to give the iOS app another try.
App of the Week: Podcast
This is the fourteenth article in the series App of the Week series.
Some of the best times of my day is when I get to sit in the car driving, sync my iPhone with my Ford, and turn on a great podcast. Whether it is a great daily episode of Tech News Today or The Youth Ministry Garage, you need to have a great application on your iOS device to really enjoy the whole experience. A week ago, I would not have done this review because the application was actually a disgrace, but this week it is significantly better than before. So here are the things that we like and still want to see changed with Apple’s Podcast app.
