Public speaking is stressful enough without worrying about your speaking environment and technical support before you speak, not to mention running into technical difficulties during the presentation.
Mitch Joel, President of Twist Image — “one of the largest independent Digital Marketing agencies in North America,” shares his personal list of software and hardware that he uses, along with a basic speaking rider that every public speaker — ministers included — should consider adopting. While you can tweak it to your liking and purpose, the overall concept is what’s important; plus, the Rider has been compiled by someone who’s seen their share of public speaking scenarios.
Isn’t It Vain?
Before you start thinking it’s too vain to have a Rider, think again. Most tech teams and leaders are more than happy to accommodate you as a guest. Removing any roadblocks or avoiding any problems will benefit everyone involved. There is is less stress all-around and in the end, it is the listener who will gain the most. A Rider isn’t vain unless you make it so.
Give Joel’s post a look, it’s a great list for those of you doing any regular public speaking from the stage or pulpit!
Do you have any public speaking tips, tricks or techniques that you would add to this toolkit?
