If you’ve ever ran sound or been on a worship team, you’re sure to know what a “mic check” is.
“Testing – 1, 2, 3. Testing – 1, 2, 3 …”
Why are mic check’s done?
To check one thing:
Will the audience be able to hear you?
If the microphone doesn’t work: The audience won’t hear you.
If the microphone volume is too low: The audience won’t hear you (“They need to turn up the volume”).
If the microphone volume is too high: The audience won’t hear you (“I wish they would turn that down”).
Making a sound check is about making sure every thing is … well … sound.
Mic checks can never be done alone, so make sure when you sound check your ideas, make sure you check them with someone you trust.
Make sure it’s sound, otherwise, no one will hear you.
