At one point in my spiritual walk I thought I was pretty good at memorizing scripture. I’ve either lost that “ability” or need a different technique, tactic, or methodology as I’ve gotten older…
Or perhaps I’ve just become more lazy…? (Doh!)
In any case, there’s an app for that…
The Bible Memory App from Mobilize Faith is pretty darn neat.
Check out this YouTube video of the experience:
You’ll end up spending a few bucks for it but how much is scripture memorization worth to you? Probably more than a few bucks.

If someone “cannot” memorize scripture, this isn’t going to help them, an iPhone app isn’t going to make it easier. I have a very hard time memorizing scripture, but I keep working at it. Getting an accountability partner, quizzing yourself, repeating it over and over are all great things, but there is absolutely no need to pay for it.
In Jesus’ day CHILDREN were memorizing entire BOOKS of the Tanach, and today we are using technological advances as crutches in an attempt to get closer to God. Would you get an iPhone app to learn about your brother, mother or father?
How much is scripture memorization worth to me? Lots and lots of time and effort.

Isn’t your Bible one such technological advancement?

That actually looks really well done…

what handset do you have?
Stephen Bateman says
in re: to “what handset do you have?”, I use the Samsung Stone-Age. I’ll probably switch to iPhone when it comes to Verizon.

Cool. Downloading now.

Memorizing God’s word would be enough reason to switch from Android to iPhone.
But luckily for all happy Android owners, there is a memorization app for their devices, too: ‘Remember Me’ is available on the Android Market for free.

Keep it up and in a new year !

If you are looking for a mobile bible memorization app, you should check out Fighter Verses. It has a ton of features and it still adding more. I think it really does help people to memorize scripture who may have trouble doing it usually. Just having the verses in your pocket and available in a moment is a huge help. The Fighter Verses app has lots of things to help you memorize bible verses: a quiz, verse audio, a weekly commentary / blog, and songs (coming soon). It’s available for iPhone / iPad and Android.
