Currently on http://rocketplantstudio.com/learnmarkup I’m using CodeMirror http://codemirror.net/
markItUp looks like it has more features, but I’m not crazy about the initial UI… looks kind of cluttered.
Definitely worth checking out though!

Does it produce better html than TinyMCE, the WordPress WYSIWYG editor?

I would imagine that it would. It seems really robust. It’s not going to be a simple plugin install, however. It’s going to take some code chops to get it in, though. Let me know if you land it into WordPress.
