We’ve been messing around in MailChimp lately, especially in regards to some of the eNewsletters, and we’ve been pretty happy with the ease and ability to customize the design to our liking.
And besides, we’re not too complicated or intricate in our approach either (although we easily could, if we wanted).
@AllisWell has done a great job of jumping right in and making a few quick touches to our mailing list for our WordPress Theme, StandardTheme:
If you haven’t checked out MailChimp yet you need to do it.
And, of course, if you’re in the market for a blog theme you need to check out StandardTheme!

I second the MailChimp recommendation. Great system. And they’re not resting on their laurels either; they continue to innovate. Their Inbox Inspector tool is one example of genius: http://www.mailchimp.com/features/power_features/inbox_inspector/ .
Their editor isn’t great; it’s somewhat finicky and, in my opinion, needs some improvement. I’ve had to dig into the source code on virtually all of my campaigns in order to solve little formatting issues. Admittedly some of those trips to the source code were caused by a staff member pasting from Word instead of jumping to Notepad first, but that doesn’t account for 100% of the problems I’ve encountered.
Overall, a great system, getting better every month.
