The Greater Things Conference is a “hands-on, compassion training event for pastors and leaders of local ministries who want to dig in and learn how to serve their communities.”
They’ve done an excellent job of leveraging technology to spread the word.
Let’s take a closer look:
Creative
The Greater Things Conference video was done really well:

Nice, right?
They also made a number of resources available — postcards, brochures, website banners and more.
Just look at all these logo versions, too:
Everything you need to help get the word out, plus, you could email the Coalition of Compassion for any customized resources!
Social Media
Social media is key when getting the word out and the Greater Things Conference certainly did a great job providing info.
They provided all the deets for Facebook, Vimeo and Twitter.
My favorite aspect was their distinct definition of a unique Twitter hashtag for the event.
Great job!
They also provided sample text for:
- Email invitation
- Letter invitation
Plus, they provided a PDF Social Media Media Resource Guide.
Impressive.
Website
I found the Greater Things Conference website easy to use.
It was well organized and had just the right amount of info without being overwhelming.
For those unable to attend the conference in person, the Greater Things Conference is available via live video stream!
Using the amazing Live Theme, it’s almost as awesome as being there!
(Not really, but almost ;-))
While watching the live conference feed, you can following along with the live Twitter feed and toggle over to the Greater Things Conference Facebook discussion stream, too.
How great is that!
Take a look at what they’ve done with Live Theme.
Finally
The Coalition of Compassion has done a great job using the web to spread the word about the Greater Things Conference, and even spreading the word of those speaking at the conference by offering a live video stream via Live Theme.
Levering technology for Christian conferences FTW!

I’m curious in whether providing free wireless access during the conference is a good thing in terms of leveraging technology

Why?
Sam.T says
Coming from a background of having not implement this before, I guess the question in my mind would be what would we use free wireless for ?
I think i’m a bit at the paranoid side of the scale at the moment 🙂

Social networking, event apps and the likes.
