Kingston will soon be releasing the world’s first 1TB USB flash drive!
That’s a lot of memory to keep your pocket.
This thing looks #hawt:

This video is of the 512GB model that’s currently available.
“The DataTraveler HyperX Predator 3.0, as it’s called, has read/write speeds of up to 240MB/s and 160MB/s, boasting SuperSpeed USB 3.0 certification.”
But what’s this heap of memory going to cost you?
The price of a 13-inch 2.5GHz Retina MacBook Pro.
Also know as: $1,750
That’s the price of the 512GB model, I can only imagine the 1TB will be a bit more.
What would you do with this much data in your pocket?
Can you think of an practical uses for this much memory?

With that much power I would rule the world 😉
Eric Dye says
It’s true.
Adam Shields says
It looks like it is about 3 inches thick!
Eric Dye says
Yeah. It’ll be a while before they drop a 1TB SD card, eh?
Steve says
As a consultant, I can think of a lot of different uses for that. Back up of client data for development use, (with permission of course), installation media, could even keep complete Virtual Machines on this and not worry about space.
Eric Dye says
Not worry about space? No kidding! 😀
April says
I would LOVE to have one of these, but at that price? I’d rather lug around my portable hard drive everywhere
Eric Dye says
Or an entire laptop!
