We used Kidzpro for a couple of years until we switched to a larger Church Management software that had integrated checkin. Kidzpro definitely fills a niche. It allows you to do computerized checkin even if you’re not using church management software. It works, but it is pretty basic and the user interface could use a lot of work. My biggest complaint is with the dymo printer that they bundle with it. We had tons of problems with jamming and the labels feeding incorrectly, plus the labels are pretty expensive. I’m not sure the price of kidzpro is a good value. I would rather pay a monthly cost than a large up-front cost. They also have yearly maintenance fees after the first year.
I would recommend really thinking through your checkin process before going with any check-in software. Here are some questions to ask yourself.
How will you handle visitors? Does a manual paper label system make more sense for our church size? What do you do with the data you collect? Will you follow up with children who miss several weeks in a row? How many check-in stations do you need? What will be the ongoing cost of labels? Can I add checkin to the church software I’m already using?
The checkin system has allowed us to track allergies, to get to know visitors, and to have a way to quickly contact parents in the event of emergencies.

I forgot to add one of the biggest Kidzpro benefits. You don’t have to have an internet connection to use it. This worked great for us when we met in a facility that didn’t have internet access.
