Who doesn’t like coloring books?
I think that some of the neatest apps out there that are being developed for the iPhone and iPad are the ones that provide a rich experience using your fingers; some of the drawing apps out there are amazing!
This one looks pretty neat as well…
The Jesus Bday App tells the story of Christ’s birth and also allows you to color with your fingers the illustrations.
Here are some other features they list:
- Flip through pages simply by swiping
- Easy coloring using your finger
- Shake to erase
- Parental Guide provided to lead children in deeper conversations
- Beautiful illustrations that capture children’s attention
- Saving a finished drawing to the Photo’s Library – send drawing to loved ones from Photos App
- Scripture passage relating to story provided
- Enjoy a peaceful dinner with your spouse while your child colors away
I particularly like how they have a parent guide to help lead children into deeper conversations.
Strategic!

sweet, although I may be a bit nervous at this stage, in letting my son use my iPad/Touch (not that I have) for this. Although it is a great way to get kids into technology (is that a good thing) while teaching them something and help in other areas; eye – hand co-ordination etc

my daughter’s been using my ipod touch since she was 2… she assumes every digital screen is touch-able now.

that’s awesome!
