It’s always interesting to check out what other developers are doing to scratch their own itch within the development space.
It’s not at all unusual to create little tools, scripts, and utilities to help automate many of the more mundane tasks, but what about having immediate need to work on some JavaScript code and all you’ve got is your iPhone?
Easy – checkout the JavaScript IDE for iPhone.
Though it’s still under development, there are already a number of useful features available:
- Line numbers
- Easy access to special characters
- Keyword completion
The current version of the IDE sits around 13.3KB. Not too bad.
I think the effort is pretty awesome, though I do question the practicality of it. Then again, I don’t have an iPhone.
Thoughts?

Yeesh, I have a hard enough time writing text messages on my iPhone. I can’t imagine trying to code on one. I guess it would make a difference if you had a peripheral keyboard but still…

Seriously but, then again, whatever works I guess :).
