I preordered the iPhone 4S as soon as I was able to about two weeks ago, and haven’t regretted it at all. I was intrigued when I saw Siri demonstrated, as well as by all of the other new features touted by Apple.
Here are some thoughts on my experience with the device so far.
Siri
I think my favorite part of Siri is simply the voice recognition so I don’t have to type out every text or email. While I do use Siri for some of its more capable features like creating calendar events or initiating new messages without actually unlocking my phone, I use the simple voice recognition much more often. While it’s not perfect, it does a pretty darn good job of recognizing most everything I say. The only time it isn’t very accurate is when there is quite a bit of background noise, which is completely understandable.
Camera
The upgraded camera on the 4S is stunning. It rivals many point and shoots that I’ve used, and is more than sufficient for a camera that you have with you all the time. It’s by no means DSLR quality, but for the majority of pictures the average person takes it is very well suited.
These two features are probably the most noticeable and most used new features of the 4S over its predecessors. There are many other features that support these two, such as the addition of a dual core processor and larger battery (though that apparently doesn’t increase battery life). Overall I’m very impressed and happy with my purchase.
Did you purchase a 4S? What do you think so far?

Haven’t purchased it yet but am seriously considering it, for sure.

I got the 4S (moved from Android) because of those features. I don’t regret it. The wide ability of Siri has proved quite beneficial in keeping my phone put away while driving (works perfectly with my caller ID / voice commands bluetooth).

Love the phone. I’ve had every version but the battery on this one is the worst yet.
