U.S. Air Force Combat Controller Ron Walker dropped his iPhone while jumping out of an Air Force plane!
Staff Sergeant Walker was scouting out a jump location before sending out his parachute jumpers, when the Velcro on his coat failed to keep his pocket closed.
At 1,000 feet above the ground and flying around 150mph, Walker’s iPhone made a fast 90-story decent.
After getting back to base, he told his colleagues about it. One of them had installed the Find My iPhone app on it, so they gave it a try. In only a few minutes, the app pinpointed the lost iPhone’s location.
They jumped on some ATV’s and tracked it down about 2 miles away.
Not a scratch.
The phone was wearing a Griffin case at the time of its unexpected journey, but no special aerodynamic protection.
Awesome.
