If the only word you understand in the title is “Introducing”, don’t worry, but if you are a JavaScript coder or hacker, you’re gonna like this.
Check it out…
Google published their JavaScript Style Guide to help the interweb become more consistent with its coding practices. Recently, in an effort to further help the development world, they released their Closure Linter.
Closure Linter – compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux- is a script that you run against your JavaScript source file. Closure Linter then prints the result of every missed semicolon, parenthesis, missing spaces, and so on.
Useful? Definitely, though I do see it more of being a double-check that dependency on writing good code – you should be watching and formatting your code properly from the start. If you’re not careful, a tool such as this can quickly become a crutch.
