Instagram is one of those social media platforms that I tell churches to just use. I don’t care if you are doing it because you want to increase engagement or focus on promotion, this network needs to be considered for your top 3.
The visuals that make this network work, the vast user base that goes with it, and the ability to tell a whole story in a single, simple post is amazing. But don’t take my word for it.
Here are three of the best tips from the infographic above.
- Instagram has 200 million active users which upload 60 million photos and like 1.6 billion of them every day. Of that percentage, 70% check it daily and 35% more than once.
- Don’t do the work yourself. Encourage your followers to take pictures at your church themselves. Ben & Jerry’s strategy has been to utilize these photos in their own stream and local ads. Churches, emulate that.
- Use hashtags to link your content and allow your customers to link with you. The infographic says 11 hashtags is the average, but simply one great one would do.
Is your church using Instagram?
