About a month ago John mentioned the Noteslate which is due for release later this year.
For those of you who don’t know about the Noteslate, firstly, where have you been?!
In all seriousness, the Noteslate is a mobile device that is being released in June this year that is going to do one thing really well. It is a device that simply is going to help you to take and keep hold of notes. It has a 1-bit, aka 1 colour eInk screen, has a battery life of 180 hours and will be capable of holding 70,000 pages of notes.
To me, this is a bad boy gadget! I’m excited at the potential that this product has and the buzz surrounding it right now – it’s blown up with tens of thousands of people following on Facebook & Twitter.
I know some of you are going to be saying “why do I need this? I have an iPad” – but to me, there is nothing like using a pen and paper – and for someone who wants to have a record of everything on computer, then this could be the most awesome compromise. For me, this is going to be especially true if somehow it will integrate with Evernote eventually, because I love Evernote, and it has some seriously badass text recognition software that would compliment use of the Noteslate perfectly.
Plus – this baby is sexy, I want this in my bag! I want to pull it out during a business meeting and start making notes! I know that I would use something like this a lot because i’m always reaching for my Moleskine and writing ideas and thoughts – and although I don’t think that I will ever get rid of “real” paper completely, this will certainly be a huge aid in my day-to-day work.
So, Noteslate, the word on the street seems to be for a June 2011 release, and I really hope so! There are a lot of people waiting for this bad boy and I am getting impatient! It seems very strange that there is no prototype video, although it seems that it is coming soon, I also find it weird that there doesn’t seem to be any indication as to who is behind this project.
I hope this project comes off, and that come the summer I can have a Noteslate in my hands. I want one real bad. If like me that is the case, make sure that you follow Noteslate on Twitter or Facebook and sign up to their newsletter.
Who else wants to rock a Noteslate? How is it going to help you in your day to day? If you are indifferent about the Noteslate, then why?

I definitely want one… I think I would use it all the time. Still not convinced that it’s actually coming out, and not convinced that it will actually cost $99 if it does, either, but I’m holding out hope!
James Brooks says
Eric, I certainly share your concerns. I really hope it does happen!

Me too. I wish they would post more info…
