HTML5 is new and exciting, but hardly anyone is seriously using it.
First, there’s the learning curve. HTML5 is a whole new animal and is going to take some time before code wranglers have everything pinned down.
The second inhibitor with HTML5 is browser support. Why go to all the work and dive into learning HTML5 if you’re going to need alternative snippets for every other thing you code!?! There are also HTML5 elements that require pieces of Java to “replace” the effect in older (and some current) browsers.
With these two inhibitions in place, you need all the help you can get, right?
HTML5 Doctor is just the place for HTML5 help. It’s one sweet resource for those ready and willing to start learning. HTML5 has hardly arrived, but it will, and you need to be ready.
HTML5 Doctor
HTML5 Doctor is filling up with some great articles and you can submit questions. What a great way to learn some of the ins and outs of HTML5!
HTML5 Doctor has a complete element index if you’re looking for something specific.
Give it a click, and you’ll be whisked away to the element index listings.
Each listing provides a brief definition and:
- Our Prognosis
This takes you to an in-depth article on the element, complete with comments and discussion. - W3 Link
The link to W3 will pull-up the selected element in the W3 overview. - Code Snippet
See the code. Copy the code. Use the code.
HTML5 Doctor is a great resource that’s informative and easy to use. I’ve already subscribed to their RSS feed, so I can start filling my head with HTML5 knowledge in my Google Reader.
Give HTML5 Doctor a spin (don’t you think they need a Twitter button/link?) and let me know what you think; and please, share with us some great HTML5 resources you’ve used.
