Some call it Movember or Beardvember, while some know it as No-Shave November.
No matter how you cut it, or in this case, not cut it, men’s faces are getting itchy and scratchy all over.
This is the third year that I have done it. I will be honest with you. The first year I did it because it looked fun and I could get away with a whole month of not shaving. Just thought of those extra minutes of sleep every morning was good enough for me. The truth is, I had no idea what all this facial hair growth was all about. I had seen several other guys on Twitter doing it and so I joined in. It was not until my second year that I actually came to know what it was for.
Are you participating this year?
Here is an infographic with all the facts about Movember and a photo of my beard progress from today:

If you didn’t know what all this was about, now you do!
Now, here’s my progress:

This is a fine example of good marketing and poor communication. I’m sure I am not the only guy who didn’t shave and had no clue as to how this all started or what it was for. When churches, ministries and nonprofits devise a cool marketing campaign, it is important not to loose focus on the why.
For those of you participating by not shaving this month, how is your face faring?
You can use the form below to submit your photo and we’ll add it to this post.

Although I’m already bearded, I’ve not trimmed/clipped it since the start of November. I don’t plan on trimming until the end of December! I’m going for a Jase off Duck Dynasty! My mother told me today that I’m starting to look like a hillbilly – I take that as good progress!
