In the past, I’ve hopped around to the different sites I’m responsible for and used browser plug-ins/extensions to check webpage load times.
Not anymore!
Loads.in (great URL) is an excellent one-stop speed check.
It’s easy on the eyes and just down-right helpful.
After you get your general speed tested, Loads.in‘s Waterfall chart will give you all the vital info you need to figure out exactly where you’re getting any slowdowns.
Check it out, give it a test drive, this one is worth bookmarking.

I feel that they are way off. Yslow is much less via Firefox and Pingdom tools is about 4 seconds faster.
For an average browser though to render my site – it’s about 3 seconds faster than all of what these sites are saying!

To get the speed spot-on is a bit relative. There are SO many variables. I think the key, is, having a benchmark. Measuring with the same “tape measure” is key.
