Is it because Steve Doesn’t Like His Job?
It’s not like he was forced out, either.
He’s done an amazing job. Jobs Well Done, indeed!
The history of Apple is a curious one. Full of competition, rivalry and beauty.

History of the Apple Logo

The history of Apple design is so much more than their logo. The history of Apple’s hardware design is anything but short of EPIC. Take a look at the past 35-Years of Apple Design: The ‘Apple’ Tree.
Your Apple
Even though many have tried to imitate and even copy Apple (the fake Apple stores in China still blow my mind), no other curator of technology can match what Apple has done to the industry.
(Calvin has started up a great conversation on the future of Apple, so please, weigh-in. We would love to hear your thoughts on it!)
This is what I would like to hear from you:
Do you remember your first Apple encounter?
How long have you been using Apple products?
What was your most memorable Mac Moment?
Tell us your history with Apple!

My first experience with Apple was in middle school in the 80’s. I used to love getting computer lab time to play oregon trail. After that I was in college before I got on my next mac. The old G-3 towers that were blue and white and beyond brilliant. I bought my first mac with the 1st iMac came out because I could no longer work on windows. I have been mac ever since – 13 years of owning and longer of using. I love my mac and could never imagine using another computer.
My favorite mac memory…. I worked .5 miles from the apple factory in Elk Grove, CA and also went to several of the old Mac conferences and felt like a total giddy child with all the new toys for the years.
I am sad to Steve go but knowing he left Apple in good hands.

I’m not a big Apple user. The only Apple products in the house right now are a router and my wife’s iPhone.
That said, they’ve made my life as Windows/Android user much better. Neither of those products would be nearly as good as they are today with Apple (though the opposite can be said as well).
Despite not being an “Apple guy”, I watched every keynote I could that Jobs gave. He’s mesmorizing. I’d watch a keynote and suddenly have a desire for a new product that I would never need. 🙂

He IS awesome.

I guess my first big apple experience was in a design studio when I was doing work experience (94/95-ish). They had Macs, PCs and Unix stuff all networked together, was pretty amazing! It was the first time I’d seen a 20″+ crt monitors 😉 and where I also learn my first bit of html (on OS7 I guess).
The first apple product I owned was a 4th gen/color iPod (but used on a PC originally!) it’s still going strong. I then got an orig mac mini as my ‘podcasting box’ while running a Dell laptop. In 2008 I made the complete jump to apple with a 4,1 mbp (which I’m typing on). I’ve also got a 2010 mac mini which is my main computer now (8gb ram – nice) and a 1st gen iPhone (jailbroken). I also have a bright orange iBook G3 (someone did a paint job on the case!) I got cheap on ebay which I use as a digital photo frame and as my ‘pdf viewer’ when I’m gigging.
I guess my biggest wow moment was unboxing the mbp and booting it for the first time. Getting up and running and fully working in 15mins when XP took 90+!
I’ll be praying for Steve – he doesn’t seem to be a well man…

I have owned and operated Apple from the Apple II up to my Macbook Pro. I am a retired teacher and have loved those computers. They would do anything asked of them.
Now, they are too expensive to purchase. I would love to have a tower to replace my G5 which is now obsolete due to system changes. Bad deal to change from Mac operating system to intel. A necessary step but one which ruined us older users.,
