I’ve been talking a lot about hashtags on the ChurchMag Podcast as well as over on Justin Dean’s podcast. We even asked our readers and listeners to help create a ChurchPag Podcast hashtag.
But what makes a good hashtag?
The infographic below has a lot of great ideas to consider when making one, so I pulled some of my favorite. But I would love to hear from you, what makes a great hashtag?
- The effect of a hashtag can mean nearly doubling of retweets. Tweets with hashtags also have 21% more engagement.
- Surprisingly, Instagram images from users with less than 1,000 followers get nearly double the average of other posts if you have more than 10 hashtags with the image.
- Yet, Facebook is the opposite, posts without hashtags actually are better. I wonder what Facebook’s strategy is with that?
