Do you want to share your Google+ URL?
I did, until I looked at it!
Just look at it! It’s hideous!
I know Facebook didn’t have a very good-looking URL at first, either.
You would think Gmail users would be automatically assigned with a URL that used their email address:
http://plus.google.com/ericdye
Makes sense, right?
My Facebook URL is easy to share:
Until Google irons this out, I have a quick and easy solution for you:
gplus.to
It’s easy.
- Choose your nick name.
- Drop-in your Google+ ID.
- BAM!
Now I can easily share my Google+ URL:
Now, that’s a URL I can look at without cringing!

Boom! Done. http://gplus.to/barner

Nice. 😀

Another way you can go about this is to share your google profiles URL. http://profiles.google.com/username. So if your gmail address is [email protected], then it would be http://profiles.google.com/ericdye. But keep in mind that it does allow people to know what your gmail address is considering they simply have to know the second half of the address to send you an email. I guess it just depends on whether that’s an issue for you or not.
Eric Dye says
True.
I still like the gplus action 😉

Brilliant!
Eric Dye says

I have been scouring the interwebs looking for an invite too, but have been unsuccessful. My curiosity to try Google+ is making my brain melt.
Eric Dye says
I think Google stop letting my invites go through. #sadpanda
Timmy says
I appreciate it! 🙂 Thank you.
Dustin W. Stout says
They are slowly letting invites trickle out. Your best bet is to ask someone to send you one. Check out this post: http://www.googleplustutorials.com/how-to-get-a-google-plus-invite

http://profiles.google.com/wormeyman
works for me and redirects to my google plus profile.
Eric Dye says
FACT: Eric J knows EVERYTHING! – LOL!
For sure, man. I still like the gplus action 😀
Jason McCranie says
Wish I had an invite 🙁
Eric Dye says
They need to open it up to everyone, before everyone that’s already on Google+ gets tired of waiting for the rest of their friends to join the party!
Dustin W. Stout says
Agreed.
Jon says
Anyone have invites left? I’d love one… 🙂 jonathan.edmiston (at) gmail dot com.
Dustin W. Stout says
I’ll see what I can do.
Gangai Victor says
For those who had a google profile before the launch of G+, something similar is already in place.
For e.g. My profile used to be @ http://profiles.google.com/gangai.victor
This now automatically points to my G+ page.
So try http://profiles.google.com/YOUR-GMAIL-ID, it should work.
Gangai Victor says
Oops, looks like Eric J already beat me to it!
