It happened.
First thing this morning I setup ChurchMag’s and 8BIT’s new Google+ Plus Pages, so I thought I would share with you how easy it is to setup a Google+ Plus Page for your Church.
First, jump onto the ChurchMag Google+ Plus Page and add us!
How-To Create a Google+ Plus Page for Your Church
On the bottom left column you’ll see the “Create a Google+ page” button and give it a click.
You’ll have a number of categories to pick from:
If you’re adding a Church, select “Company, Institution or Organization” and fill-out the name of your Church or organization.
Next up, drop in your tagline and upload a profile picture:
They have some cool options when adding your photo. You can do some photo editing, which is pretty slick.
As the Page creator, you have the option to spread the word about the new page you created!
Click finish and you’ll be sent to your new Google+ Plus Page!
Follow through some of the on-screen info to get started rolling on your new Page. Add a post, grab some code to add the Google+ Plus Pages icon to your website and get the official, but very ugly, URL. You may think about a vanity URL, but I’m hoping Google may streamline this at some point.
Click on your profile icon and you can check out the profile page and add some more info:
Add some introduction info, contact information and some recommended links.
I’m sure they’ll be more robust stuff in the future, but this should certainly get you moving in the right direction.
Here’s where I got totally lost.
Of course, it didn’t help that Google+ Plus kept getting hung up. I imagine they’re experiencing some serious traffic, today.
If you want to add your new Page to your own Circle, manage more than one page or how to add posts to your newly created page, how do you get their from your own profile?
I was totally lost, but after clicking on my name, this little dude began showing up:
This little quick pull down gives you access to all the pages you have control over:
Just select what you want to use Google+ Plus as, or go to the “Manage your pages” selection which takes you to a dashboard of all your Pages:
Nice!
Now, what if someone else in your Church did this!?!
Easy.
Just click “Delete” on your Pages dash and it’s removed!
Are you ready to add your Church, organization or business to Google+ Plus?

Here’s the Google+ Plus Pages icon for your designing pleasure:

Thanks for the news and the easy intro. I set our church’s page up but now need to share it as we have 3 of us working on social media and are all admins working on facebook, twitter and soon google+. We divide the work and responsibility by areas of ministry so I take care of weekend worship content and one of the others takes everything else and the other backs us up. But I’ll need to know how to give admin status to another user. Didn’t see this anywhere. Maybe it will become obvious in time…

It looks like multi admin is on the way: http://plus.google.com/102648148748642147788/posts/8a64q4at5xs

Any thoughts on how to treat church’s FB Page vs Google+? Identicle posts in both? Same content?
