It may have been around for a while, but I somehow missed it.
Did you know you search for images with images on Google?
It’s incredibly easy.
Just open Google Image Search and instead of typing something, click on the icon of a camera that’s in the search box. Now you can either paste a link to an image or upload your own image. Google will then search for similar images.
So, if you’ve made a photo of a bird or a flower that you don’t know, you can now let Google find out the name for you. You can look for better photos of a picture you’ve found, find a creative commons version that’s similar, or try to find where an image originates.

If you really like it, there are also plug-ins for Chrome and Firefox that let you search immediately via a right-click on an image you see!
Have you tried this Google search by image yet?

I stumbled across something similar on my Android a while back. Very cool. It’s called Google Goggles
