I was practicing reading with my 5 year old daughter Sanai while the Sunday Night Football was on, so I figured I would test her by reading a random sports tweet.
This is the first time all season the #Redskins have scored a TOUCHDOWN on their opening possession. Washington leads 7-0! #HTTR

I was so excited that she did well, I posted a 15 second clip to my Instagram account. Then, I received an interesting comment by a good friend.
He said, “I was wrong for that post, LOL.” It took me a minute to get what he was saying at first, but it dawned on me that my daughter read a tweet that may have been perceived negatively toward Redskins fans even though the Redskins official twitter account posted the tweet.
Context and intent are everything in social media. I have seen many churches and ministries tweet and post information with good intentions, but have a negative result.
What have you posted that has been taken out of context and taken even though you had good intentions?
In this insta-share social media world, should we slow down before posting and think of the implications or is that too much like work?
I know that I share things sometimes without thinking about the implications or context.
Speak your mind...
