Mobile is not the future. Let’s be clear, they are already the standard for computing and desktops are old and laptops are hanging on. It doesn’t mean they are the most effective means of computing at all, especially for videographers, photographers, or bloggers, but consuming is definitely dominated via mobile.
The question is, are you factoring that into everything:
- Your website design. Is it too small to view or too large of file size to download?
- Your images with text. Can you even read the images?
- Your videos with the visual and audio aspects. Can you hear it on a cheap phone clearly? Are you able to see everything in your video on a tiny screen?
Here are some facts you need to know from the infographic below:
- In 2014, there was a 28 percent increase in mobile commerce.
- 72 percent of consumers spend about 2 hours a day on their smartphones.
- At 53 percent, messaging outpaces other smartphone functions, such as email (43 percent) and other social channels (49 percent).
What do you still need to fix with your content for mobile consumption?
