Remember the days when you would buy an album just to get that one song? Glory Song, Matt Redman’s latest addition to his prolific career, could easily be one of those albums, except for the fact that it’s hard to chose which song would be that one song.
You see, I always list my favorite tracks from an album after providing a bit of introduction, and that’s usually easy because there are usually a few tracks that just don’t resonate with me. That’s not a bad thing: it’s just the reality of human personalities, of individuality. However, on this album, I’ve felt some resonance with each track at some point during my review period. Thus, this list below is heavily curated to be only those songs that I resonated with most often or most deeply.

Your Ways
So, if you were going to do what digitized music has made possible and buy only one song from this album, I’m going to kindly tell you to stop. You’re only going to be depriving yourself of twelve other amazing songs that could prove to be just as powerful for you.
This has been a great year for worship albums, not because artists are peaking over each other’s shoulders or anything like that. Simply put, I think the Church is starting to expect, even demand, songs worthy of being offered to Jesus, and I think that Matt has sensed that expectation and is rising to meet it. One can only hope that others will follow his example.
Now’s the point I usually describe the album with a single word before I assign it a star rating, and this time, I’ve chosen a word that I’m going to have to explain. This is a “worshipful” album. I sincerely think that Matt was worshipping as he recorded it, and while I’m not trying to imply that other artists don’t sound worshipful. Matt just sounds especially so.
Matt Redman’s Glory Song is a worshipful worship album, and I rate it…
