Well, not everyone has that struggle… but I do at times.
Being honest with one’s feedback is a very nuanced thing and at times one has to read between the lines in terms of the request. I also have to always ask myself if this is a “battle” I’m willing to engage in.
Or… maybe I’m thinking too much about it.

My wife is one of those who doesn’t have that problem. Very often when I design something I turn it to my wife for evaluation… She gives such an honest feed back some times I have to start all over. But it’s worth it. Finally I can come up with something professional…
Recently one of our project consultants asked her evaluate a brochure some had designed before finalizing and sending it to the Printing people. The following was her feed back.
Commets on Front cover
* Photos are not very impressive ( Almost all)
* Poor quality photos (Girls’ photo, Man reading the newspaper and the couple)
*Can use a better and a loving picture to include children
* What about young boys???? There arent any boys in that photo.
* Page design is good except for the photos
Commets on inner cover
* Senior Pastor’s msg should be in a brighter font.
* Rest is fine

I agree. You have to determine if it is worth the fight and whether the person asking for feedback wants real feedback or needs encouragement.
