Today’s Friday 5 is with Christopher Doherty, which is fascinating because he just guest posted yesterday (that wasn’t even planned…)!
So here’s some more info on the man behind the 2nd ChurchCrunch guest post…!
Time Bandits or Favorite Websites?
http://www.icanhascheezburger.com – those lol cats. Funny, they haz it.
http://www.twitter.com – Great community but sometimes you can get carried away.
Los challenges thought and creativity and has fun with it.
I use this for influence, inspiration and and researching trends in design.
I had to put it in. But seriously, John takes creative chances to make a difference. Success or failure John takes chances. Can you say the same?
Brody is leading (or dragging kicking and screaming) Christian artists into the future through blogging and social media.
Any of the envato network sites, from Photoshop to audio tools they have a niche site and tutorials. Very cool.
Whatcha Working On?
Well, most of the time I am working on graphic design projects, mostly those things that you find in your mailbox and newspapers from national restaurant chains. I am working on a few websites but I try not to do too many of those (I mostly end up coaching my clients on how to do it themselves).
Lightvox keeps me quite busy but it is a labor of love. I get to meet great people and share my love of music as ministry. The artists, media agents and readers that I have met have been amazing.
I am also working with a group called Worship2Action (worship2action.com). The executive director and I met at a concert and became fast friends. They are in the process of expanding and defining new directions and there will be some amazing things happening.
I can’t speak in too much detail at the moment but I will say I am constantly floored by the way God puts people in the right place at the right time.
How do you see Web Technology impacting The Kingdom?
I see it impacting through people like us who join together to share our love of Christ and our gifts. We have seen the power of the internet to make change in so many areas; music, movies, advertising, politics and most of these changes were driven by materialistic needs.
Can you imagine what we could do inspired by our love of Christ? Helping others, sharing our skills, there are so many opportunities to make a difference. Just this year alone, I have seen amazing things done with LifeShare (lifechurch.tv) and Praying Backwards (ragamuffinsoul.com) people came together from around the world to be a part of something bigger.
