Sure, you have probably already heard of DaFont.com.
(Don’t worry, this is not a blog post entirely about DaFont.com)
But I do want to talk about it for a moment. That website seems appealing until you have to deal with the complications of licensing. Some of the fonts are shareware, some are for personal use only and others don’t even come with a license or a contact for the creator of the font.
I am not a copyright expert but sometimes, it is better to be safe than sorry! And you don’t have to have a big budget for your project to do so.
Here’s another great option:
With over 600 handpicked font-families available absolutely free and already licensed for commercial use – this is a slam dunk!
At my church, we use Font Squirrel fonts for our print graphic design projects, our sermon series video bumpers and worship lyrics in ProPresenter. Some of our favorites are Aurulent Sans, Sansation and Insolent.
If you are looking for something with a little funk and a lot of groove, then check out After Shok and BlackCasper. With categories like Retro, Calligraphic, Handfrawn, and Grunge, the possibilities are endless.
Since these fonts are handpicked, the variety is absolutely stunning because of the number of different font creators represented. If you are a format freak (in a good way), I thought I would let you know that depending on the font, the format is either TTF or OTF.
Most of the fonts can be downloaded on-site although a select few are provided off-site.
But Wait, There’s More!
Here is the icing on the cake: you can use the test drive feature to see what your titling will look like before downloading.
You can thank me later.
