This whole series is about focusing. It’s about focusing on what really matters in blogging and forgetting about all the fluff and useless stuff that distracts us from what we really want to do:
Building a great blog.
And I’m all for that. I’ve spent the last year and a half building a blog out of nothing to what it is now. Focus is the main reason I managed to accomplish what I have in that short time, so focus on building a great blog matters.
But there’s a greater picture, namely that of living a great life.
Our bigger focus should always be on our life, not on our blog. No matter how successful our blog, in the bigger scheme of things, it’s only a blog.
Our life is what truly matters in the end.
Whenever you are faced with the choice between living a great life and building a great blog, choose the first. Spend time with your kids and your spouse, serve in your church, help out in a local charity, take care of those in need.
Then blog.
Nobody ever regrets spending more time living a great life, but there are loads of people who regret wasting time on the wrong priorities. Blogging may be a priority amongst other things you do, but your life should come first.
Always.
Don’t ever let your goal of building a great blog get in the way of that most important goal of all: Living a great life for God.
Have you ever let your focus on blogging get in the way of living a great life?
