Remember November 2016 and that unbelievable bit of news that came out that month? Yes, that’s right! That’s when Facebook announced that they would be allowing Facebook pages to connect Instagram accounts in the Facebook Page Manager app!
Well, that functionality finally reached my app this past month. Maybe it was there sooner, maybe it wasn’t. Either way, I first found it on Sunday while working a church event, and within an hour, I was able to create an Instagram account for my church and connect it to our Facebook page.
Honestly, it was on of the easiest things I’ve every done.
Here are the screenshots from my installation:
Did you notice the time at the top? From start to finish, eighteen minutes! And that included time taken to find a place to charge my phone!
And here’s a screenshot of what it looks like when a comment comes in on Instagram:
Basically, here’s what you do:
- Open the Facebook Page Manager app.
- Go to your page inbox.
- Tap on the Instagram tab.
- Log in to your Instagram account.
- Celebrate!
And since Facebook is being so generous with all of this, they’ve provided a dandy little page that takes you through the whole thing, including a nice little image that shows you the exact same thing I’ve just told you, but they insisted I show it to you.
Now, if I’m honest, and I usually am, we don’t use Instagram at my church, or at least, we haven’t before. But now! Now that we can connect it all through a single app, it seems like as good a time as any.
Maybe you’re in the same boat? Too many networks, so little time? If so, I hope this helps make your job a little easier.
Let me know in the comments if you’re planning on using this new feature, or if you’ve already been using it!
I’d love to hear some success stories.
